CommUnity is committed to maintaining a safe environment for all users, especially children. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and have implemented comprehensive standards and mechanisms to prevent, detect, and address any such content or behavior.
1. Standards Against Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE)
1.1 What is CSAE?
CSAE (Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation) refers to any content or behavior that sexually exploits, abuses, or endangers children. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) - any visual depiction of sexually explicit conduct involving a minor
- Grooming - building a relationship with a child for sexual exploitation
- Sextortion - coercing a child to produce sexual content
- Child sex trafficking or solicitation
- Any content that sexualizes or endangers children
1.2 Our Zero-Tolerance Policy
CommUnity maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy regarding CSAE. We:
- Prohibit all forms of child sexual abuse and exploitation content
- Immediately remove any identified CSAM or CSAE content
- Report violations to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement
- Permanently ban users who violate these standards
- Cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations
2. Content Moderation and Detection
2.1 Proactive Measures
We employ multiple layers of protection to prevent CSAE on our platform:
- Automated Detection: We use industry-standard hash-matching technology to identify known CSAM
- Content Screening: All user-generated content undergoes automated screening before publication
- Age Verification: Users must be at least 13 years old to use CommUnity
- Behavioral Monitoring: We monitor for suspicious patterns that may indicate grooming or exploitation attempts
- Community Guidelines: Clear rules against inappropriate content involving minors

Our trained moderation team reviews:
- Flagged content reported by users
- Content identified by automated systems as potentially violating our policies
- User accounts that exhibit suspicious behavior
- Reports from our community regarding child safety concerns
3. User Reporting Mechanisms
3.1 In-App Reporting
We provide easy-to-use reporting tools within the app:
- Report Button: Every post, comment, and user profile has a prominent "Report" button
- Report Categories: Users can specify the type of violation, including "Child Safety Concern"
- Anonymous Reporting: Users can report content anonymously
- Emergency Reporting: Critical reports are prioritized for immediate review

3.3 Response Time
We are committed to rapid response:
- Child safety reports are reviewed within 24 hours
- Critical reports flagged as CSAM are reviewed immediately
- Violating content is removed as soon as it is identified
- Law enforcement is contacted immediately when appropriate
4. Action Against CSAM
4.1 Immediate Actions
When CSAM is identified, we take immediate action:
- Content Removal: Immediate removal of the content from our platform
- Account Suspension: Permanent ban of the offending account
- Hash Database: Adding content hashes to prevent re-upload
- NCMEC Reporting: Filing a report with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) through CyberTipline
- Law Enforcement Notification: Coordinating with appropriate law enforcement agencies
- Evidence Preservation: Securely preserving evidence for investigation
4.2 Prevention of Re-Upload
We use PhotoDNA and other hash-matching technologies to prevent previously identified CSAM from being uploaded again. This includes:
- Maintaining a database of known CSAM hashes
- Blocking uploads that match known CSAM signatures
- Sharing hash information with industry partners through appropriate channels
5. Compliance with Child Safety Laws
5.1 Legal Compliance
CommUnity complies with all applicable child safety laws, including:
- Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) in the United States
- General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) child privacy provisions in the European Union
- Local child protection laws in all jurisdictions where we operate
- Google Play Child Safety Standards policy requirements
5.2 Mandatory Reporting
We fulfill all mandatory reporting obligations:
- Reports to NCMEC's CyberTipline as required under U.S. law
- Cooperation with law enforcement investigations
- Preservation of evidence upon request from authorities
- Testimony or documentation when subpoenaed
